The Arkansas Bar Association (ArkBar) is pleased to announce Tim Cullen as the new President-Elect Designee. Cullen, of Fayetteville, was elected without opposition at the close of nominations on October 6, 2025. He will begin his one-year term as President-Elect in June 2026 and will assume the office of President at the 2027 ArkBar Annual Meeting. Tim graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.A. in Communications and earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1996. Security Alert: Phishing/Malware Attempt Reported We’ve been notified of a sophisticated phishing/malware attempt targeting members. The scam begins with what appears to be a legitimate DocuSign link . When clicked, it opens a mocked-up DocuSign document claiming to be from the Arkansas Bar Association. Inside that fake document is another link directing to an unrelated website (infohakodate[dot]com) — which is not legitimate . Please be cautious when clicking links, even if they appear to come from trusted sources. #News

The Legislation Committee has taken a position in opposition to HJR1015 and SJR13 which are proposed amendments to the Arkansas Constitution or the United States Constitution. HJR1015 is a constitutional amendment to ensure transparency by requiring a judicial candidate to declare his or her political party affiliation or independent status when running for office. Arkansas Bar Association President Kristin Pawlik today appointed Texarkana attorney Josh Thane to the Bar's Board of Trustees. Mr. Thane will fill the unexpired term recently held by Rep. Carol Dalby, also of Texarkana. The seat became vacant when Rep. Dalby was voted President Elect Designee of the Association. Rep. Dalby will serve as Bar President in 2026-27.
